My perfect trail shoe
Trail running feels great in these shoes. they're low profile, lightweight and very comfortable.
The best trail running shoe
I think this is simply the best trail running shoe out there. Sure, everybody's feet are different and different shoes work for different people, but for the majority or trail runners this one will work. I've tried Montrails and Vasques and XA Pro 3D is by far the winner. Nice low profile means you'd be running pretty close to the ground. The sole has a good balance between cushioning and protection and the lugs are deep enough for dry trail terrain. They do get little slippery during the rain though. The cord lacing system works great, if anything I had to loosen it up during the run as my feet swell little bit. The shoe has good narrow fit that gives me enough control, I wouldn't call it a narrow shoe though. Big gnarly toe protector gets lots of use during the descents. I am not using Salomon insoles as that's the cheapest part of the shoe. Got them replaced with after market insole for better ergonomics. Not a big deal. So far I've put about 200 miles on the shoe and it still looks and works great. From what I'm hearing the shoe can take about 400-500 miles, so I'm about half way through. I know what my next shoe will be...
