Yes, I am definately happy with my new pair of Speed Cross trail runners. I purchased them at Norwaysports in the red-Goretex version. I have gone through a couple of pairs of the black non-Goretex over the last few seasons and I love the traction, support and comfort but my socks would sometimes get damp on really rainy runs. So again, happy for the Gortex and the great red color.
Took them pretty much right out of the box on a 10 miler... very impressed, great grip and traction, good ankle support for being a low shoe (saved me around some sketchy switchbacks). It took about a mile or two to get the pull ties dialed in where they weren't too tight or lose but once they were...... the shoes felt incredibly light and fast... can't wait to try them out in wet/snow conditions!!
I really like these shoes for muddy conditions. I've recently run a mud run in these and got really good traction. The shoe is extremely lightweight yet it provides good amount of support and cushioning during the run. Lugs are quite deep (designed for mud apparently) which feels little weird on rocks or asphalt, but is great for soft surfaces. All other features of the shoe are on par with other Salomon trail runners, including lacing system, materials, toe protectors etc. I'm quite pleased.
