Park City is the home of the U.S. Ski Team and was the site of the 2002 Winter Olympic Games for the GS, Slalom, Snowboarding, Ski Jumping and Freestyle events. It is the largest ski town and year-round resort community in Utah. The design shows winter environment from the area in and around the village. The village is symbolized with the highlighted center. The star shows different directions from the village to the surrounding mountain areas, which is used as both recreation and outdoor sports of many kinds, but especially winter sports. The 'lice' pattern gives a snowy impression together with the snowflakes of different sizes. The snowflake-form is also a symbol often used in the native (Indian) culture. The top border is symbolizing the mountains in the area and which also are showed to surround the village. The area's fauna is expressed in the tree-border on lower part of the main pattern. Lice pattern, which is very often used on Norwegian sweaters, is also used in the Park City design.
