The reason is lightweight/breathable Cloudburst 2.0 fabric, which packs small but seals out incessant weather when pulled on without delay. Ripstop texture and cordura instep patches prevent material from shredding even when scraping with metal on ski tours or bike rides, while ankle zips increase circumference when pulling cuffs over bulky boots. An elastic-and-belt-looped band keeps them from riding high or slipping low, while a rear zip pocket stashes an item when circling, breaking or venturing off trail.
