The hood makes sense
I like to have hood on any technical outwerwear, it just makes sense. My hair gets wet in many environments, sweat, extra cold--all those conditions are perfect for a hood. The sweater is made of Polartec material which is super warm and seems pretty durable. Great athletic fit without any extra bulk that is absolutely not necessary. It is certainly not the cheapest hoodie out there, but if you climb, ski or do anything else besides wearing it to the mall, it will serve you well.
