Polartec Power Shield

SKI MAGAZINE's 2005 Buyer's Guide Pick. "This fleece-lined women's Polartec jacket is a midlayer hybrid so warm, we weren't surprised to find out the company's based in Iceland. The best part, though, is its hood; it turns with your head, expanding visibility far beyond the typical Gore-Tex tunnel." 2005 APEX AWARD winner! "66 NORTHs Glymur (Womens) Softshell jacket and matching pants not only perform well, but do it with panache." The Powershield jacket uses Polartec Power Shield fabrics which are the next generation of technical outewear--the soft shell. This clothing concept goes beyond traditional 2-layer systems, which feature fleece insulation and a waterproof/breathable shell, to a single layer that protects against all but the worst weather conditions and delivers extended breathability, abrasion resistance and stretch to enhance your outdoor experience. Polartec Apex Award winning jacket for it's excellence in design, fit, and cutting edge technical fashion. Softshell jacket that's ready to take on the slopes or the streets.

Glymur: The Botnsa river runs from the second-deepest lake in Iceland, Hvalvatn (525 ft.), into the sea at Hvalfjordur. Botnsa river passes through a magnificent canyon, into which spills Iceland's highest waterfall, Glymur, which is around 650 ft. high and popular for wintertime ice climbing. People wonder about the derivation of the place names in this area and one delightful folktale, telling the story of Raudhofdi, explains the origins of some of them.
