Generally, we have found the Helly Hansen jackets and sweaters to be relatively large in size. If you are in doubt and in between two sizes, we recommend that you order the smaller size.

LIFA is a base layer that transports moisture away from the body. It uses polypropylene yarn which is hydrophobic so, as well as moving moisture, it maintains a dry layer next to the skin. To be most efficient, LIFA should be worn next to the skin as part of the Layering System.

LIFA seems to be working well
Got this quarter-zip neck version of Helly Hansen's LIFA base layer as I needed something to be able to adjust easily and open for when overheating on the slopes and in the mountains. Great piece, works just like the traditional LIFA but gives you the options to open for quick release of vapor and heat. Odor is not a major problem and it seems to hold quite well even after couple dozen washes. Would certainly recommend this one to friends.
